Addiction affects familiesAt Treatment Solutions Network, our staff lends its experience, strength and hope to help family members understand the impact of addition on their lives. Often, the family recognizes the problem before the addict is ready to acknowledge or deal with it. In these difficult situations, it is sometimes necessary for a TSN certified interventionist to assist.

We recommend that family members attend counseling or educational sessions to help them deal with the impact of a loved one's addiction. Chances for recovery increase dramatically when families are involved.

Because addiction has such a strong effect on the family of an addict, it is important for families to receive support themselves. Al-Anon and Alateen (for younger family members) offer help and hope to addicts- families. Al-Anon holds regular meetings throughout the country for family members to share their experiences, learn from other people- stories, and be encouraged to find their own strength and happiness.
