Program overview

The Harmony Clinic treatment program was developed in direct, ongoing association with Hazelden Clinic, Minnesota, and follows their integrated model of treating addiction, including treatment and ongoing care, professional education services, addiction research and advocacy.

The treatment program has a strong element of 12-step facilitation. Harmony Clinic incorporates the traditional focus on understanding the addictive process and sharing personal consequences of using.

Harmony Clinic also teaches clients specific techniques for managing difficult feeling-states and situations that elicit cravings. Providing a thorough grasp of these skills, along with enhancing the motivation to use them, is one of the many things that set Harmony Clinic apart from other treatment centers. They believe that both internal relapse prevention skills and the ability to use the external support structures of 12-step fellowship groups are key elements to a successful recovery.

Each unit, which has been tastefully furnished by a top interior design company, comprises a master bedroom, en-suite bathroom, and private lounge with satellite TV.

Family Suites

For those clients who are not from Cape Town, and would like family members to join our monthly family program, or who are flying into Cape Town for family con-joints, there is the option of utilizing our on-site family accommodation. Each suite consists of a master, and a single bedroom, private bathroom and lounge area. The benefits of this are that the family can stay together as a unit during this time and take part more fully in the program. All meals will also be provided for, with the possibility of time being spent together in the beautiful surrounds of Hout Bay. Transport into central Cape Town can also be arranged.
